Dr Chelsea - HeadshotDr. Chelsea Doughty is honored to serve her hometown of Concord through her clinic Southern Cross Chiropractic. She obtained her childhood aim of becoming a chiropractor when she graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, located in Port Orange, Florida.  Dr. Doughty earned the distinctive honor of The Clinical Excellence Award as well as class salutatorian during her time at Palmer.  She is a board certified Chiropractor in New Hampshire.

Dr. Doughty experienced her first adjustment at 4 days old (yes that says DAYS), and continued receiving chiropractic care throughout her childhood, providing her with a first-hand testament of the positive effects a healthy nervous system has on growth, development and optimal function. During her high school and collegiate volleyball career, chiropractic care was the first intervention she sought to combat her low back pain and other sport related injuries as it helped with pain relief, lowered risk of injury and increased her performance on the court.

While earning her doctorate, Dr. Doughty’s desire was to study techniques that would analyze and address the body as a whole and has since pursued and primarily applies the methods of Sacro-Occipital Technic (SOT™).  SOT™ focuses on the relationship between the base of spine (sacrum) and the base of the skull (occiput). This biomechanical relationship has a profound effect on the flow of cerebro-spinal fluid, which activates nerve impulses that control all bodily function. This method of chiropractic is specific and addresses dysfunctional strain patterns with low force adjustments, making SOT™ a beneficial treatment for people of all ages and conditions – especially children!

Dr. Doughty has trained in a variety of other techniques including Activator, Diversified, Gonstead, Graston, and Thompson. It is her hope to act in partnership anyone who want to increase their vitality and better their health through holistic and alternative means. Dr. Doughty’s ultimate goal is to educate patients, young and old, to gain understanding about their body and embrace the positive health benefits afforded through natural lifestyle pursuits and routine chiropractic care.

Dr. Doughty lives in Concord, NH with her husband of 12 years and their Australian Labradoodle, Juniper (who will most likely greet you in the clinic.) She is an active member of River of Grace church in Concord.   She enjoys soaking up the sun, decorating (and re-decorating) her house, exploring New Hampshire, trying new recipes and sharing authentically about knowledge gained through personal experience about health and healthy living habits.
